The most south westerly airport of mainland Britain, Land’s End Airport is the gateway the Isles of Scilly. It was established in the 1930s when it started an air service to the island of St Mary's. The Isles of Scilly Skybus started operations in the airport in 1987, and in 2012, it became the only remaining air link for the Isles of Scilly. In 2013, the new terminal was completed which included a new control tower, and new baggage handling and arrivals facilities. In July 2014, the airport was closed temporarily for the entire month so that its grass runway could finally be asphalted. The airport is owned and managed by the Isles of Scilly Steamship Group which also operates the principal shipping service from the town of Penzance to the Isles of Scilly. Land’s End Airport Parking
Land’s End Airport car park is open from Monday to Saturday, all year round except during major holidays. It is open from 7 am until half an hour after the last Skybus flight. It also has disabled parking spaces at the South Car Park.
